I am addicted to Zumba! Seriously, it's just about the only thing that gets me excited about the gym. I wouldn't miss a Wednesday class for anything. If you've never seen it before, check out the video. It's not only SUPER fun, but I sweat more during that class than any other. Try shakin' it for a straight hour - you'll feel it.
In other news, I've decided to set a date for this weight-loss experiment - my birthday (in February). Every year I say that I'm going to lose it and look smokin' for the big night out. Take a guess. You're right, it hasn't happened yet. In the coming days, I'll attempt to add a countdown to the blog somewhere. Always good to have a goal - it's especially motivating when you see the time tick-tock-ticking away. Let's put a fire under my booty!

The Last 'Fast Food' Supper
You may be asking yourself why my first post includes a picture of a giant Papa Johns pizza. To be honest, I don't have a great answer for you; I bought an online deal a while ago and it was activated today. Of course the same day we start this blog...very inopportune timing. I decided to order the pizza and eat HALF (oh my) of it to mourn the loss of my beloved fast food. (This is very like me by the way, I am a master of creating excuses for why I did something bad - expect more excuses in the future).
But don't let this first post fool you - I do want to lose these last 10...it's just going to be very, very difficult for me. As you'll see, I love food.
So, as is expected, I submit my first weigh-in...158.4 (post-P.J.'s - I will remember to weigh myself in the morning next time, yikes!)

Gotta start somewhere
Hills here. Let me start by saying this blog was entirely Whit's idea. I have agreed to be a part of it to hold myself accountable to sticking to our rules, hence I may be less contributory with the recipe/resource portion of this program. Here goes nothing.
Day 1, 9:25 pm, 8/29/11 - 157.6 lbs
I maintain that if I were to check this number tomorrow morning, it would be less. *Sigh* Such is life. I WILL kick that number in the ass.

Numero Uno
In honor of the URL that had to include Spanish, here is the first post of 'The Last 10'. Made by friends Whitney and Hillary after a pact one stormy night (that may or may not have included 2 Wendy's Spicy Chicken Filets...so delish) to finally lose the last 10 pounds we gained in college. Now, don't let the title fool you...this isn't just about losing weight. We generally want to be healthier, more active, well-rounded individuals. And thus came the rules. Simple, and yet astonishingly difficult to adhere to.
1. Eat the way we know we should. (This includes no fast food, more fresh vegetables and cooking at home)
2. No vino during the week. (Difficult for 2 twenty-somethings who appreciate a cheap or fine wine)
3. Do something new every week. (This is where the active, well-rounded lifestyle comes in)
4. Sweat every day. (The hard part)
If you read this blog, here's what you can look forward to: updates on how we're doing with our rules - which includes weekly weigh-ins, ugh; recipes, photos of our adventures, and our resources/stuff we've found useful along the way.
Here's to the beginning of our experiment!
